PRF is Platelet Rich Fibrin which comes from your own blood. At Lola's we do not inject dermal fillers under eye. We prefer to use PRF for the best and safest outcome.
PRF is fibrin matrix compromised of platelet cytokines and growth factor cells which help promote skin rejuvenation. When injected under eye it is an all natural approach to improve under eye pigmentation (dark circles) and tone. It also enhances skin firmness, texture and thickness. Results are immediate however it takes time for the PRF to stimulate collagen and elastin production.
Treatments are recommended 4-6 weeks apart for a series of 3 treatments. After about 2-3 months results become more noticeable and fully visible within 6 months.
What happens after the PRF Procedure?
Patients can resume normal activity immediately following their PRF procedure. Slight redness and swelling should be expected. Some patients notice minor bruising. These side effects typically disappear within the 24-72 hours.
As healing mechanisms increase, patients notice improvements such as:
- Smoother texture due to improved collagen formation.
- More radiance due to new blood vessel formation.
- Fresher, younger-looking skin due to the influx of vital nutrients.
What risks are associated with PRF?
PRF treatments, even when performed for aesthetic gains, fall into the category of regenerative medicine. The growth factors and nutrients within platelet-rich plasma literally stimulate cellular regeneration wherever the organic product is introduced. PRF supports the body’s natural healing mechanisms and does not include any foreign substances or chemicals. Therefore, there is virtually no risk of allergic reaction to the product.
An important note about PRF injections: patients should obtain care from a trained professional. While the risk of prolonged swelling and infection are very low, the manner in which treatment is performed can affect outcome. Our team has been educated in the safe, effective and comfortable performance of PRP treatments.
